More than likely we sound like a broken record as we mention every month how fast this year is passing by, but it's about four weeks before we ring in 2025. Personally, this year has flown by and I attribute that to the amount of work I have been involved with every month. The two primary sports I cover, motorsports and ice hockey overlap in both the spring and fall, so there are challenges in providing my services to clients for each sport. We would like to say thank you to all the clients who hire us to provide images, no matter what type of subject - we strive to exceed client expectations and hopefully, those purchasing from us can say we succeeded in that goal.

While most people are not looking forward to winter, it's one of the highlights of my year when we have some cold weather and the American Bald Eagles move south; we are lucky, they will spend a few months within a couple of hour's drive, so we can spend a few days capturing their behavior. The annual Sandhill Crane migration is underway but we have not been able to make the drive and spend any time with those magnificent birds, maybe in a week or two we can make the trip over to Indiana.

As we start a new year, let us know if there are any changes you would like to see with this monthly newsletter, do you like the format or is there anything we can do to make the images better? For our first image this month, going back to October aurora events, similar to one of our images last month but this one has more red for celebrating the Christmas season. Ironically this image was captured within 30 minutes of last month's image but a very different look based on the colors visible. Our second image is nearly as fresh as you can get, it was captured a few hours ago (as I type this message). One of my requirements of a good sports image is a clear view of the athletes' eyes and I was lucky to be in the right location to capture the puck in mid-air as Quad City Storm goalie Tyson Brouwer waits to catch the puck in his glove. Capturing a puck before it is caught in a goalie's glove is difficult, plus the number of times pucks are deflected in the air and directed toward a goalie, this does not happen often, so I was happy actually to get this image. Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide-screens along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device and change the background as needed for your OS.

For Mobile devices, most mobile phones require a long press and a menu popup will be displayed, click save then follow the steps for your operating system to set as your background image.
