Tim Lester Images Monthly Update
Hopefully everyone survived the month of August and now we can say hello to September. With High School football started, it will be time for farmers to start harvesting crops and fall colors to start. August in the Midwest has been very wet but nothing like Louisiana has experienced. From the Red Cross - the catastrophic flood devastating Louisiana is now the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Hurricane Sandy four years ago. Hoping the state of Louisiana and the homeless families can return to normal soon.
Someone asked how much I travel shooting images, which I have never thought too much about but decided to do a little calculation. Since July 25, I have traveled about 8000 miles - if those miles were all driving, I would be able to leave Peoria Illinois, drive to Boston, go West to Los Angeles, then back to Boston and finally return back to Peoria. Without stopping to sleep, that would be about 126 hours of driving.
Anyone located in Central Illinois, I will be at the Hayloft Art Fair on September 10th and 11th. This year marks the 34th event, held in part with the Village of Mossville Fall Festival - if you are near the area, stop by and say hello.
The first image this month is from Central Wisconsin, while travelling between a couple of locations along a country road I spotted this small farm. Originally I drove past but had to turn around to take a few images.
The second image this month is also from Central Wisconsin, during some more back road country driving - looking for small farms similar to the other image this month. These Sandhill Cranes actually arrived shortly after I had stopped to take pictures of a couple of other Cranes. These three(3) birds drove the other pair away extremely quickly, it was interesting to witness.
