Monthly_Update Message
Hopefully everyone is staying dry, at least your basements, if possible. Here in Central Illinois we have been receiving rain nearly every day, a total of 21 days of precipitation has been recorded at the Peoria Airport. There are a few locations with rain nearly every day of the month. Surprising that we do not have any major flooding currently in the state but our rivers are rising with minor flooding in numerous locations.
From the time machine - twenty years ago last week my wife and son started an adventure that lasted nearly six weeks and provided memories for a life time. We packed our camper and traveled over 8500 miles from Illinois to Alaska and back, along the way we visited numerous states and Canadian Provinces. This trip was pre-digital cameras for us, so over 50 rolls of film were shot, mostly color but some black and white also. So many stories that could be told and I plan on scanning negatives so some of those stories can be told along with a visual image. For those wondering, at this point in the trip we were in our fifth state and in Colorado and preparing to head to Idaho with a July 4th stop in Bend Oregon.
First image this month is after a passing storm near Canton IL, near the beginning of June. At first we noticed a double rainbow opposite the sun and then I turned around to see this scene and wonderful color. Just another reminder to always have a camera with you and make sure you look both directions since you never know what could be presented to you. Camera Data: 70mm 1/200 sec F8 ISO800
The second image this month is from a Peoria Chiefs baseball game earlier this month. The Chiefs are affiliated with the St.Louis Cardinals in the High A Minor League system and were playing the Quad Cities River Bandits, the first place team at the time. This image shows Shortstop Moises Castillo diving into third base after hitting a line drive into center field, this is Castillo's only triple so far this season. The Chiefs eventually lost 6-3. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device and change the background as needed for your OS.
For Mobile devices, most mobile phones are straight forward to download images but Apple users might need a few tips.

With 3D Touch enabled - tap and hold but with no pressure on the screen, select Save Image
