Monthly_Update Message
The first quarter of the year has passed and now we can hope Mother Nature provides all of us in the Northern Hemisphere a nice spring, with a few rain showers but no more damaging storms. For my friends in the Southern Hemisphere, hope your fall and winter weather provides the conditions you enjoy - either way, maybe everyone can get outside and enjoy some sunshine while taking a nice walk.
Occasionally, we have a theme with our two images and this month we have one, 'motorsports' but of the four-wheel type. The first image is outside the turn 3 racetrack fence in Senoia, Georgia, at the Senoia Raceway - this image was captured over the weekend when I was covering a motorcycle race. Normally you would not think of a raceway as having a dock and boat, along with a little building to sell worms, bait, cola and moon pies; which is the correct thought because this is a staged setup and not real. Some TV and movie fans might know the town of Senoia, Georia as it was a filming location of numerous productions. Has anyone heard of The Walking Dead, where one set is a real neighborhood plus Driving Miss Daisy and Fried Green Tomatoes were also filmed in this small town. Georgia is a popular state for Hollywood to film in, so next time you are there, do some research and you might be able to locate a filming location for one of your favorite shows or movies. Our action image this month is from the archives, actually captured in 2019. Our image is racer Bill Shuster running a little wide in his Sierra RX3 and off the racing surface to clip a few hay bales. Though his lap was compromised, the car had enough momentum to keep going. The race was held at World Wide Technology Raceway as part of the Americas Rallycross (ARX) series event. The series organizers decided to stop operation five months after this image was captured, which was unfortunate as the series was gaining fans and had some great racing action. Here's a link to download the appropriate version of this month's image for your desktop, one for standard screens and one for wide-screens along with a Mobile Phone Image. For desktop computers or tablets, Right click on the text for the format you need and select Save As, save to a location on your device and change the background as needed for your OS.
For Mobile devices, most mobile phones require a long press and a menu popup will be displayed, click save then follow the steps for your operating system to set as your background image.
